Save the screensaver "scr" file anywhere you wish, the temp directory or other directory of your choosing. You can "run" the screensaver simply by double-clicking on the file name or by right-clicking the file name and selecting Test. You can even place a shortcut on your desktop to run the screensaver by right-clicking the file, selecting Send To and Desktop. You can change the time the pictures remain on the screen and the order in which they are shown, among other options, by right-clicking the file and selecting Configure. This is great for running the screensaver as a slideshow. You can "install" the file as a screensaver by right-clicking the file and selecting Install. It will then run as a screensaver. However, to properly install the screensaver so it will display in your list of screensavers, you will have to move it to the appropriate directory depending on which version of Windows you have as indicated below. Otherwise, when you select another screensaver this one will no longer appear in your screensaver list and you will have to "install" it again.

Windows Version         Screensaver Directory
Windows 95/98/Me
Windows XP
Windows NT/2000
C:\Windows\System
C:\Windows\System32
C:\WinNT\System32

To find out for sure where the scr files should go on YOUR system, go to Start, Search, Files or Folders and type in *.scr (star dot scr) and press enter. Make sure the "Search system folders" box is checked in your search advanced options. Your scr files and the directory where they are located will be displayed. This is where your hummingbird or other scr file should be placed.

Your Windows' Screensaver Settings also allow you to change the time the pictures remain on the screen and the order in which they are shown, among other options. To preview or change your screensaver settings, right click on a clear area of your screen's desktop, select Properties, then Screen Saver, and enter your selection for your screensaver (Hummingbirds) and your settings. This changes the settings for the currently selected screensaver only. Another simple way to change these settings is by right-clicking the file name and selecting "configure."

Further instructions are available in your Windows' Help menu (Start, Help). Type in "screen saver" for topics.
